The Certified Financial Planner Licence is the International accreditation for Financial Planning. It is the benchmark that combines vocational skills with technical expertise. One of our Financial Planners, Meeku Patidar, has successfully achieved this accreditation and is one the few to have done so in the Channel Islands.
The accreditation is renewed annually, providing that the Financial Planner satisfies certain ongoing educational requirements, has no upheld complaints against him or her and continues to abide by the strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
There are four key elements that support the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) process:
-
Education; aspiring to a high level of technical knowledge
-
Examination; attained a minimum level of advanced qualification to meet the CFP criteria
-
Ethics; adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and set of Practice Standards
-
Experience; have more that 3 years experience within the financial services profession
There are approximately 100,000 CFP Certificants worldwide, however, of these there are around 500 within the UK.
